Welcome! This is the first edition of Shimane Spotlight.
Shimane Spotlight is a monthly magazine and website that was created by foreigners, to help all the foreign residents and internationally minded Japanese to learn about the different wonders of living in Shimane.
Until now there has been only help from the local government, Facebook groups, and word of mouth. This constrains most people to only know about their area. Shimane Spotlight wants to help you explore all of Shimane, from Matsue and Yasugi through Izumo, Oda, and Hamada to Tsuwano and Yoshika while not missing the Oki Islands.
The monthly magazine will provide more detailed articles about special events, places, and highlight some of the interesting things people are doing in Shimane.
The Shimane Spotlight website goal is to provide a one stop place to learn about all the different places to eat, drink, and have fun for both families and adults in Shimane. It will also provide a place to talk about events, both big and small. Finally, it will also provide a place for people of Shimane to show what they have to offer.
